48 % of all these harmful programs are top quality service users, followed by 22 % that are malware and a 21 % of information stealers. Malicious downloaders are provided in 19 % of the cases, while rooters, click on scammers and neighbor’s resources are at underneath of the steps.
The programs are encouraged onto customers through third-party websites and even the official Google Play app store – despite filtration and checking initiatives from Google itself. More often than not masquerade as genuine and popular software such as Angry Birds, Skype and Instagram.
This surprising growth in Android viruses made the scientists change their objectives for 2012, and they believe that we might be looking at a complete of 129,000 different harmful programs by the end of the season.
“Treat your mobile as you would your desktop,” they said. “Apps remain the most common way your Android phone and the data stored in it can be compromised, so be discerning and responsible with the apps you choose to download.”
