The limitation with the free Microsoft Office Word viewer is that you cannot edit or generate a Word document – it is strictly for viewing & printing. For these more advanced functions, in lieu of the Microsoft Office Word Viewer, you will require a duplicate of Microsoft Office Word (which can be bought as a stand alone program or part of Microsoft Office). If all you are doing is reading, printing or copy documents, then the free Microsoft Word Viewer will be all you require.
This viewer replaces the Word Viewer 2003, however the full release of Microsoft Word is now up to version 2010.
