Bank of America clients, be careful – the old “account suspended” caution allegedly sent by your bank’s Cardmember Services is reaching in-boxes once again.
“During our usual security enhancement protocol, we observed multiple login attempt error while login in to your online banking account,” the email says. “We have believed that someone other than you is trying to access your account for security reasons, we have temporarily suspend your account and your access to online banking and will be restricted if you fail to update.”
As PhishTanks says the victims are redirected to a very realistic spoofed page of Bank of America.
The fake webpage is hosted at http://account.safe.bankofamerica.com.flipthisbod.com/home/sign-in/, but untill now it is still unavailable. Anyway, the URL in this email can be quickly changed to redirect users to another page, so be extra careful!
If in doubt about the email and its legitimacy check your account but not by following the embedded link provided in the email; instead type the correct URL in your browser or hit the boomarked page.
